Sign Petition to Ban GPS Collared Hound Hunting of Deer

How hound hunting of deer (or any animal) could even be considered hunting is beyond comprehension. It’s basically a sadistic form of entertainment: the thrill of watching one kind of animal tear apart a completely defenseless animal for one’s own selfish pleasure. It’s not sport. It’s not ethical. It’s a disgustingly pathetic hobby and one that shouldn’t even exist if we’re supposed to have evolved as a civilized, intelligent species.

Currently, houndsmen are allowed to use radio telemetry collars to track their hounds, but California Fish and Game Commission are considering an amendment to Mammal Hunting Code of Regulation 265. This would allow the use of GPS collars on hounds while hunting deer, pigs and for training purposes.

Aside from the blood bath that ensues from hounds tearing into the deer (an agonizingly painful death), the use of GPS collars in hunting would also naturally disrupt other wildlife and their habitat. They could also give poachers an advantage as the GPS would show them where bears, bobcats, mountain lions and other wildlife may be trapped.

Please sign and share this petition to give wildlife a fighting chance.
